Biography
Dr. Joel A. Garcia is part of a multi-disciplinary team of health care providers specializing in Cardiovascular Diseases, Peripheral Vascular Disease, and Structural Heart Disease at the University of Colorado Hospital and Denver Health Medical Center. His special interests include Treatment of Complex Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD), Advanced Coronary and Peripheral Imaging, StentBoost (2D-3D), Rotational Angiography (3DCA), Dual Motion Rotational Angiography (DMRCA), 3D Modeling (3DRA), Coronary and Device Volumetric Reconstructions, Long Coronary Injections and Image Acquisition (180), Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) and Validation, Image Fusion (CT/MR/3D), CTA overlay, and Optimal View Mapping (OVM). Dr. Garcia mostly works as an Interventional Cardiologist with training in advanced percutaneous therapies for coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and structural heart disease. He has been certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Endovascular Board and Interventional Cardiology. . Dr. Garcia has been the recipient of many national, international, and institutional awards for his clinical excellence, leadership, and research involvement. Among those he was the recipient of a Young Investigator Award (ICIM, Japan), the American Medical Association (AMA) Leadership Award, an Emerging Young Leadership Award from Cardiovascular Revascularization Therapies (CRT), SCAI/GE Research Award, ACCF/BMS Award, and a Clinical Research Fellows Conference Award. . Dr. Garcia is also an active fellow of several medical specialty societies like the ACP, ACC, and SCAI.
