Biography
Dr. Arvind Bijalwan is a Professor of Forestry (Agroforestry) at the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry (VCSG UUHF), Uttarakhand, India. He holds B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Forestry with specialization in Agroforestry, and secured All India Rank-3 in JRF while also qualifying NET in Forestry and Environmental Sciences. He has over 22 years of experience in teaching, research, extension, and consultancy in forestry and natural resource management. At VCSG UUHF, he currently serves as Professor of Forestry (Agroforestry) and also holds administrative roles including Director Academics, Associate Director Extension, and Director of the IQAC Cell. Dr. Bijalwan has previously served as Dean of multiple colleges (Forestry, Hill Agriculture, and Horticulture) and Joint Director Extension. Before joining VCSG UUHF, he worked as Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal, and at Allahabad Agricultural Institute-Deemed University (now Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences), Prayagraj. He has led and contributed to several research and extension projects, including a ₹12.18 crore project on cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants for livelihood generation in the Western Himalayas. He has published around 85 research papers, 65 scientific articles, and 3 books, and supervised 8 Ph.D. and 23 Master’s students.
