Biography
Lucia-Maria Vaina is professor of neurology, neuroscience and biomedical engineering at Boston University and Faculty at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging and Department of Neurology, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She obtained her MS in Mathematics, and her MD and PhD in neurosciences and neurology, and a Doctor Honoris Causa in Neurology. She is the founder of the Brain and Vision Research Laboratory and NeuroVisual clinic at Boston University and the co-founder of the Neurology of Vision Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA. Both laboratories focus on studies of stroke recovery using behavioral tasks and modern functional neuroimaging methods, fMRI and magnetoencephalography (MEG). online notepad
Research Interest
Behavioral, neuroimaging and computational-theoretical investigations of the functional architecture of the human visual system by studying normal subjects and stroke patients.
