Biography
Darko Maver, Ph.D, is professor at the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security, University of Maribor, Slovenia, where he teaches Criminalistics/Criminal Investigation and Police Law on undergraduate and graduate programmes. After graduating from Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana in 1976, he worked for 14 years at the Institute of Criminology at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana.. He received his MA at the University of Ljubljana and his Ph.D. at the University of Belgrade. He is former director of Criminal Investigation Department at the Ministry of the Interior, Republic of Slovenia. As state undersecretary he was responsible for international relations of Slovene police between 1993 and 1998. He was Dean of College of Police and Security Studies (now Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security).
